AdNews 2016

Twelve months ago, to be named finalists in two categories in one of Australia’s most prestigious advertising awards wasn't even on our radar.

This year, Affinity entered the AdNews Agency of the Year Awards with proven data-driven credentials, awesome creative and high hopes to match.

Amidst the glitz and glamour of The Star Casino and the who’s who of the Australian ad industry was the guy who played Kenny in that movie, Kenny, about an Aussie portable toilet rental plumber – comedian Shane Jacobson.

Shane was a laugh-out-loud funny MC and helped us get through our three-course, black tie dinner as we awaited our nominations – Best Use of Data and CX Agency of the Year.

We took home a Highly Commended for Best Use of Data. Congratulations to all the other winners.

Special mention goes to Sean Cummins who delivered a great Hall of Fame speech, continuing the conversation about our industry still being too much of a boy's club and looking forward to seeing a woman receive the same accolades in the very near future.

It wasn’t to be for us this year for CX Agency of the Year but we’re happy to be on the map and just like Leonardo DiCaprio at the Oscars, we’ll bide our time to take home the grand prize.
